השיר מאת האל דאבין (מילים) והארי וורן (לחן) שנחשף בשנת 1933, הוא חלק מפס קול הסרט Moulin Rouge, שיצא לאקרנים ב-1934 בביצוע השחקן האמריקני Constance Bennett. בנט מעולם לא הקליט את השיר. הוא הוקלט לראשונה ע"י Deane Janis בליווי התזמורת של Hal Kemp באוקטובר 1933 בשיקאגו.
